The problem
“The phone was ringing off the hook.”
That’s how Practice Administrator Brooke Sodahl described the day-to-day routine at MyOBGYN. The practice had just one staff member handling calls, and the phone line was constantly clogged with new-appointment requests.
Despite the ceaseless demand for care, MyOBGYN still struggled to quickly fill new providers’ schedules. The practice needed a dual-purpose solution—one that would improve clinician utilization and make it easier for patients to book a visit.
The solution
After exploring several potential solutions, MyOBGYN chose to implement Phreesia.
Phreesia lets patients self-schedule a visit anytime, anywhere—even after business hours—and automatically backfills open slots when a patient cancels their appointment. Phreesia also helps MyOBGYN improve clinician utilization by informing patients whenever a new provider joins the practice.
The Phreesia difference
After implementing Phreesia, MyOBGYN’s staff felt immediate relief. Patients can self-schedule a visit from the practice’s website—and whenever someone cancels, Phreesia automatically texts a list of clinically relevant patients to fill the open slot.
Recently, MyOBGYN had a new provider join the team. The practice used Phreesia’s customizable messaging templates to introduce her to patients, along with a link to schedule an appointment.
