Ash
During a primary care visit, Ash mentions that they often experience acid reflux after eating or lying down. The physician refers them to a nearby gastroenterology practice that uses Phreesia, so the referral is automatically tracked and digitized. Then, the practice sends Ash an automated message confirming their referral—along with a link for them to self-schedule an appointment.
Ash clicks the link and is taken to a scheduling form. The form is customized to match Ash to the right appointment type, provider and location.
A few days before the visit, Ash receives a text message or email prompting them to pre-register. They confirm their demographic information, medical history and insurance coverage, then provide an e-signature for applicable consents. Upon submission, Phreesia verifies Ash’s eligibility and benefits and shares the information with their gastroenterology provider’s administrative staff.
Since Ash’s symptoms were documented in the referral and on the appointment request form, they are automatically prompted to complete the Reflux Symptom Index (RSI)—a questionnaire that lets Ash self-report the frequency and severity of their acid reflux symptoms.
Ash needs to pay their copay before arriving for the visit. They review the visit charges on their mobile phone, then enter their credit card information for a quick, convenient checkout.
Ash arrives on time and checks in beforehand. And because they completed all the necessary registration tasks ahead of time, Ash’s gastroenterologist spends more time addressing their needs and having a productive, meaningful encounter.
When the appointment ends, Ash gets a text message asking them to fill out a satisfaction survey. After completing it, they are prompted to share an online review about their visit.
