RALEIGH, N.C., June 20, 2022 – Phreesia is proud to announce that Hilary Hatch, PhD, the company’s Chief Clinical Officer, has been selected to participate in the National Quality Forum (NQF)’s 2022 Leadership Consortium. Dr. Hatch’s inclusion in this expert group underscores Phreesia’s commitment to improving patients’ healthcare experiences and outcomes by enabling them to become more active participants in their care.
The Leadership Consortium is a prestigious and exclusive forum of multistakeholder healthcare experts representing NQF Member Organizations, where they share their collective thought leadership to identify actionable strategies to improve healthcare quality and drive lasting change in key areas. The group’s guidance informs the direction of NQF programs and drives improvement across healthcare.
“It’s an honor to be included among this group of distinguished leaders in healthcare,” said Dr. Hatch. “As a psychologist, I am excited by the growing movement toward person-centered care and health equity, and proud to have the opportunity to champion the patient voice in quality.”
Dr. Hatch leads the development of clinical programs at Phreesia. She partners with clinical leaders at health systems, medical groups and other organizations to improve quality performance through the implementation of patient-reported outcomes (PROs), social determinants of health (SDOH) and behavioral health needs screenings, and patient activation modules.
Phreesia’s platform facilitates more than 100 million visits a year, collecting key patient-reported data for healthcare providers. Phreesia is also the steward of the Patient Activation Measure® (PAM®), a survey that assesses patients’ underlying knowledge, skills and confidence to manage their own health. PAM is backed by research demonstrating that higher scores are associated with better clinical outcomes, higher patient satisfaction with care and lower healthcare costs. PAM has also been successfully used as a performance metric, PAM-PM, which has been endorsed by the NQF.
The members of the Leadership Consortium will discuss six urgent issues in the current healthcare landscape, including the collection and use of SDOH data and the improvement of patient safety in ambulatory care settings. The group will prioritize one topic as a focus area, then collectively identify and recommend improvement opportunities to be tested during the Implementation Collaborative throughout 2023.
“NQF has become an integral component of American healthcare’s efforts to improve the safety, quality, and efficiency of care delivery,” said Leadership Consortium Co-Chair Peter Angood, MD, President & CEO, American Association for Physician Leadership. “The Leadership Consortium continues to address significantly important topic areas by identifying the issues of concern, and then providing actionable solutions and next steps for helping to refine approaches on these various topic areas. By doing so, the Leadership Consortium itself is now becoming an important and influential group within healthcare.”
